๐Ÿ“– He (Jesus) is the head of the body, the church (Col. 1:18) ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ #PraxiFidesQuotes ๐Ÿ“‹

๐Ÿ“– Matthew 6:33-34

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

๐Ÿ“– Matthew 6:33-34

However this kind does not go out but by prayer and fasting.

๐Ÿ“– James 2:14-17

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.  If one of you says to them, โ€œGo in peace; keep warm and well fed,โ€ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

๐Ÿ“– 1 Peter 4:18

And if it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?

๐Ÿ“– 1 Peter 5:8

Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

๐Ÿ“– 2 Peter 1:20

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

๐Ÿ“– Mark 16:15

Go into the whole world and proclaim the good news to all creation.

๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 11

27 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for the body and blood of the Lord.

28 A person should examine himself, and so eat the bread and drink the cup.

29 For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself.

30 That is why many among you are ill and infirm, and a considerable number are dying.

31 If we discerned ourselves, we would not be under judgment;

๐Ÿ“– Galatians 1:9

As we have said before, and now I say again, if anyone preaches to you a gospel other than the one that you received, let that one be accursed!

๐Ÿ“– 2 Thessalonians 2:15

Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours.

๐Ÿ“– Romans 10

But how can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? And how can people preach unless they are sent? As it is written, โ€œHow beautiful are the feet of those who bring [the] good news!โ€ But not everyone has heeded the good news; for Isaiah says, โ€œLord, who has believed what was heard from us?โ€  Thus faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.

๐Ÿ“– Luke 12:47-48

That slave who knew what his master wanted, but did not prepare himself or do what was wanted, will receive a severe beating.  But the one who did not know and did what deserved a beating will receive a light beating. From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.

Their angels in heavenโ€ฆmy heavenly Father: for the Jewish belief in angels as guardians of nations and individuals, see Daniel 10:13, 20โ€“21; Tb 5:4โ€“7; 1QH 5:20โ€“22; as intercessors who present the prayers of human beings to God, see Tb 13, 12:15, . The high worth of the little ones is indicated by their being represented before God by these heavenly beings.

Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours.

๐Ÿ“–Psalms 5:7-9

But I, through the abundance of your mercy, I will enter into your house. I will bow down toward your holy sanctuary out of fear of you.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ ๐Ÿ“–Mga Awit 5:7-9

Ngunit dahil sa iyong dakilang pagmamahal, makakapasok ako sa iyong tahanan; ika'y sambahin ko sa Templo mong banal, luluhod ako tanda ng aking paggalang.

๐Ÿ“’ Isaiah 19

19 In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the heart of Egypt, and a monument to the Lord at its border. 20 It will be a sign and witness to the Lord Almighty in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the Lord because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and he will rescue them.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ“’ Isaias 19

Isaiah 56:5

I will give in my house and within my walls a monument and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ“˜Isaias 56:5

Exodus 25:18-22

18 Make two cherubim of beaten gold for the two ends of the cover;

19 make one cherub at one end, and the other at the other end, of one piece with the cover, at each end.

20 The cherubim shall have their wings spread out above, sheltering the cover with them; they shall face each other, with their faces looking toward the cover.

21 This cover you shall then place on top of the ark. In the ark itself, you are to put the covenant which I will give you.

22 There I will meet you and there, from above the cover, between the two cherubim on the ark of the covenant, I will tell you all that I command you regarding the Israelites.

๐Ÿ“–Joshua 6

6 Summoning the priests, Joshua, son of Nun, said to them, โ€œTake up the ark of the covenant with seven of the priests carrying ramโ€™s horns in front of the ark of the LORD.โ€

7 And he ordered the people, โ€œProceed and surround the city, with the picked troops marching ahead of the ark of the LORD.โ€

๐Ÿ“–Joshua 7:6

Joshua, together with the elders of Israel, tore their garments and fell face down before the ark of the LORD until evening; and they threw dust on their heads.

๐Ÿ“–Ezekiel 41:19 (Interior Temple)

the face of a human being looked toward one palm tree and the face of a lion looked toward the other palm tree. Thus the figures covered all the walls around the temple.

๐Ÿ“–2 Chronicles 7:15-16

Now, therefore, my eyes shall be open and my ears attentive to the prayer of this place;

๐Ÿ“–Isaiah 19:19-21

1In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the heart of Egypt, and a monument to the Lord at its border. It will be a sign and witness to the Lord Almighty in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the Lord because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and he will rescue them. So the Lord will make himself known to the Egyptians, and in that day they will acknowledge the Lord. They will worship with sacrifices and grain offerings; they will make vows to the Lord and keep them.

๐Ÿ“–Matthew 9:20-22

And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: for she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

to such an extent that they even carried their sick out into the streets and put them on cots and sleeping pads, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on one of them with healing power.

๐Ÿ“–Acts 19:11-12

Because of this, people took Paul's handkerchiefs and articles of clothing, even pieces of cloth that had touched his skin, laying them on the bodies of the sick, and diseases and demons left them and they were healed.

๐Ÿ“–Leviticus 10:10

10 You must be able to distinguish between what is sacred and what is profane, and between what is clean and what is unclean;

PH๐Ÿ“–Leviticus 10:10

Dapat ninyong malaman kung alin ang sagrado o hindi at kung alin ang malinis o marumi.

๐Ÿ“–2 Kings 13:21

๐Ÿ“–Psalm 5:7

But I, by your great love, can come into your house;

in reverence I bow down toward your holy temple.

PH๐Ÿ“–Mga Awit 5:7-9

โ›ช Teachings Part 3 โœ๏ธ Church as the Foundation

๐Ÿ“™Isaiah 22:22

I will place the key of the House of David on his shoulder; what he opens, no one will shut, what he shuts, no one will open.

๐Ÿ“™ Matthew 16 ๐Ÿ“ (additional Rom 9:33, 1 Cor 10:4)

18 And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.

19 I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.* Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.โ€

๐Ÿ“™Matthew 7

13 โ€œEnter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many.

14 How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.

15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheepโ€™s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves.

16 By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

17 Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit.

21โ€œNot everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.

22 Many will say to me on that day, o 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?

๐Ÿ“™ 1 Peter 5

8 Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

13 The chosen one* at Babylon sends you greeting, as does Mark, my son.

14 Greet one another with a loving kiss. Peace to all of you who are in Christ.

๐Ÿ“™Proverbs 28:13

No one who conceals transgressions will prosper, but one who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

๐Ÿ“™Isaiah 30:18

Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.

๐Ÿ“™ Luke 10:6

Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.โ€

๐Ÿ“™ 1 Timothy 3:15

But if I should be delayed, you should know how to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth.

16 Undeniably great is the mystery of devotion,  Who was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the spirit,

seen by angels, proclaimed to the Gentiles, believed in throughout the world, taken up in glory.

๐Ÿ“™1 Samuel 15:22

Obedience is better than sacrifice.

๐Ÿ“™Proverbs 21:3

To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

๐Ÿ“™1 John 4

Beloved, do not trust every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

๐Ÿ“™1 John  5

If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly, he should pray to God and he will give him life. This is only for those whose sin is not deadly. There is such a thing as deadly sin, about which I do not say that you should pray.

๐Ÿ“™Matthew 5:19

Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

๐Ÿ“™Matthew 6:9-15 ๐Ÿ“The Lordโ€™s Prayer.

๐Ÿ“™Mark 9:29

And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

๐Ÿ“™1 Corinthians 9

No, I drive my body and train it, for fear that, after having preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.*

๐Ÿ“™ James 2

10 For whoever keeps the whole law, but falls short in one particular, has become guilty in respect to all of it.

11 For he who said, โ€œYou shall not commit adultery,โ€ also said, โ€œYou shall not kill.โ€ Even if you do not commit adultery but kill, you have become a transgressor of the law.

๐Ÿ“™ James 2 ๐Ÿ“ Faith and Works (๐ŸŒ Other references on Good works)

17 So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 Indeed someone may say, โ€œYou have faith and I have works.โ€ Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works. 19 You believe that God is one. You do well. Even the demons believe that and tremble.

20 Do you want proof, you ignoramus, that faith without works is useless? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? 22 You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by the works. 23 Thus the scripture was fulfilled that says, โ€œAbraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,โ€ and he was called โ€œthe friend of God.โ€ 24 See how a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 And in the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she welcomed the messengers and sent them out by a different route? 26 For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

๐Ÿ“™ Luke 12:47-48

That slave who knew what his master wanted, but did not prepare himself or do what was wanted, will receive a severe beating.  But the one who did not know and did what deserved a beating will receive a light beating. From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.

๐Ÿ“™ 1 Corinthians 10

25 Eat anything sold in the market, without raising questions on grounds of conscience,

26 for โ€œthe earth and its fullness are the Lordโ€™s.โ€

27 If an unbeliever invites you and you want to go, eat whatever is placed before you, without raising questions on grounds of conscience.

๐Ÿ“™ Acts 11

But a second time a voice from heaven answered, โ€˜What God has made clean, you are not to call profane.โ€™

๐Ÿ“™Acts 19

11 So extraordinary were the mighty deeds God accomplished at the hands of Paul

12 that when face cloths or aprons that touched his skin were applied to the sick, their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them.

๐Ÿ“™2 Kings 13:21

Once some people were burying a man, when suddenly they saw such a raiding band. So they cast the man into the grave of Elisha, and everyone went off. But when the man came in contact with the bones of Elisha, he came back to life and got to his feet.

๐Ÿ“™Sirach 48:14

In life he performed wonders, and after death, marvelous deeds.

๐Ÿ“™ 1 Corinthians 13

12 At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known.

๐Ÿ“™Ephesians 3

20 Now to him who is able to accomplish far more than all we ask or imagine, by the power at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.

๐Ÿ“™ Luke 1

41 When Elizabeth heard Maryโ€™s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the holy Spirit,

42 cried out in a loud voice and said, โ€œMost blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.

43 And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

๐Ÿ“™ Isaiah 7:4

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

๐Ÿ“™ Proverbs 6

There are six things the LORD hates, yes, seven are an abomination to him;

17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,

18A heart that plots wicked schemes, feet that are quick to run to evil,

19 The false witness who utters lies, and the one who sows discord among kindred.

๐Ÿ“™ 1 Corinthians  6

9 Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor boy prostitutes nor sodomites 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God.

๐Ÿ“™Ephesians 5:5

Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

๐Ÿ“™ 2 Timothy 3 ๐Ÿ“ Paulโ€™s Example and Teaching

10 You have followed my teaching, way of life, purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance,

11 persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra, persecutions that I endured. Yet from all these things the Lord delivered me

12 In fact, all who want to live religiously in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

13 But wicked people and charlatans will go from bad to worse, deceivers and deceived.

14 But you, remain faithful to what you have learned and believed, because you know from whom you learned it,

15 and that from infancy you have known the sacred scriptures, which are capable of giving you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

17 so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

๐Ÿ“™ 2 Thessalonians 2:15

Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours.

๐Ÿ“™ Romans 10

But how can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? And how can people preach unless they are sent? As it is written, โ€œHow beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news!โ€ But not everyone has heeded the good news; for Isaiah says, โ€œLord, who has believed what was heard from us?โ€  Thus faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.

๐Ÿ“™ John 10:16

I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd.

๐Ÿ“™Isaiah 56:5

I will give them, in my house and within my walls, a monument and a name

Better than sons and daughters;  an eternal name, which shall not be cut off, will I give them.

๐Ÿ“™Matthew 7:6

โ€œDo not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.

๐Ÿ“™Leviticus 10

Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers and, putting incense on the fire they had set in them, they offered before the LORD unauthorized fire, such as he had not commanded. Fire therefore came forth from the LORD's presence and consumed them, so that they died in the LORD's presence.

๐Ÿ“™Acts 19:15

14 When the seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish high priest, tried to do this,

15 the evil spirit said to them in reply, โ€œJesus I recognize, Paul I know, but who are you?โ€

16 The person with the evil spirit then sprang at them and subdued them all. He so overpowered them that they fled naked and wounded from that house.

๐Ÿ“™James 4:17

Anyone, then, who knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, commits sin.

๐Ÿ“™Ezekiel 3:18

If I say to the wicked, You shall surely die and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade the wicked from their evil conduct in order to save their lives then they shall die for their sin, but I will hold you responsible for their blood.

๐Ÿ“™Luke 17:10 ๐Ÿ“ Parable of unworthy servants

So should it be with you. When you have done all you have been commanded, say, โ€˜We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were obliged to do.

๐Ÿ“™Romans 16:16

Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you.

๐Ÿ“™1 Corinthians 15

33Do not be led astray: โ€œBad company corrupts good morals.โ€

๐Ÿ“™Matthew 19

23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, โ€œAmen, I say to you, it will be hard for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.

24 Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.โ€

๐Ÿ“™Revelation 21:27

But nothing unclean shall enter it, nor anyone who practices abomination or falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lambโ€™s book of life.

๐Ÿ“™ Revelation

2 Be watchful and strengthen what is left, which is going to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God.

3 Remember then how you accepted and heard; keep it, and repent. If you are not watchful, I will come like a thief, and you will never know at what hour I will come upon you.

4 However, you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their garments; they will walk with me dressed in white, because they are worthy.

5 โ€œThe victor will thus be dressed in white, and I will never erase his name from the book of life but will acknowledge his name in the presence of my Father and of his angels.

6 โ€œWhoever has ears ought to hear what the Spirit says to the churches.โ€

๐Ÿ“™ Revelation 3

14 โ€œTo the angel of the church in Laodicea, write this:

โ€œโ€˜The Amen, the faithful and true witness, the source of Godโ€™s creation, says this:

15 โ€œI know your works; I know that you are neither cold nor hot.* I wish you were either cold or hot.

16 So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

17  For you say, โ€˜I am rich and affluent and have no need of anything,โ€™ and yet do not realize that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.

18 I advise you to buy from me gold refined by fire* so that you may be rich, and white garments to put on so that your shameful nakedness may not be exposed, and buy ointment to smear on your eyes so that you may see.

19 Those whom I love, I reprove and chastise. Be earnest, therefore, and repent.

20โ€œBehold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will enter his house and dine with him, and he with me.

21 I will give the victor the right to sit with me on my throne, as I myself first won the victory and sit with my Father on his throne.

22 โ€œWhoever has ears ought to hear what the Spirit says to the churches.โ€

โ›ช๐Ÿ™๐ŸปThe Precepts of the Church (https://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/__P75.HTM)

๐Ÿ“œ 2041 The precepts of the Church are set in the context of a moral life bound to and nourished by liturgical life. the obligatory character of these positive laws decreed by the pastoral authorities is meant to guarantee to the faithful the indispensable minimum in the spirit of prayer and moral effort, in the growth in love of God and neighbor:

๐Ÿ“œ 2042 The first precept (โ€œYou shall attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation.") requires the faithful to participate in the Eucharistic celebration when the Christian community gathers together on the day commemorating the Resurrection of the Lord.82

๐Ÿ“œThe second precept (โ€œYou shall confess your sins at least once a year.") ensures preparation for the Eucharist by the reception of the sacrament of reconciliation, which continues Baptism's work of conversion and forgiveness.83

๐Ÿ“œThe third precept (โ€œYou shall humbly receive your Creator in Holy Communion at least during the Easter season.") guarantees as a minimum the reception of the Lord's Body and Blood in connection with the Paschal feasts, the origin and center of the Christian liturgy.84

๐Ÿ“œ 2043 The fourth precept (โ€œYou shall keep holy the holy days of obligation.") completes the Sunday observance by participation in the principal liturgical feasts which honor the mysteries of the Lord, the Virgin Mary, and the saints.85

๐Ÿ“œThe fifth precept (โ€œYou shall observe the prescribed days of fasting and abstinence.") ensures the times of ascesis and penance which prepare us for the liturgical feasts; they help us acquire mastery over our instincts and freedom of heart.86

The faithful also have the duty of providing for the material needs of the Church, each according to his abilities.87

More CCC Common Topics ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

๐Ÿ“œ 1674 Besides sacramental liturgy and sacramentals, catechesis must take into account the forms of piety and popular devotions among the faithful. The religious sense of the Christian people has always found expression in various forms of piety surrounding the Church's sacramental life, such as the veneration of relics, visits to sanctuaries, pilgrimages, processions, the stations of the cross, religious dances, the rosary, medals, 180 etc.

๐Ÿ“œ 1677 Sacramentals are sacred signs instituted by the Church. They prepare men to receive the fruit of the sacraments and sanctify different circumstances of life.

๐Ÿ“œ 1678 Among the sacramentals blessings occupy an important place. They include both praise of God for his works and gifts, and the Churchโ€™s intercession for men that they may be able to use Godโ€™s gifts according to the spirit of the Gospel.

๐Ÿ“œ1855 Mortal sin destroys charity in the heart of man by a grave violation of Godโ€™s law; it turns man away from God, who is his ultimate end and his beatitude, by preferring an inferior good to him. Venial sin allows charity to subsist, even though it offends and wounds it.

V. The Proliferation of Sin

๐Ÿ“œ1865 Sin creates a proclivity to sin; it engenders vice by repetition of the same acts. This results in perverse inclinations which cloud conscience and corrupt the concrete judgment of good and evil. Thus sin tends to reproduce itself and reinforce itself, but it cannot destroy the moral sense at its root.

๐Ÿ“œ1866 Vices can be classified according to the virtues they oppose, or also be linked to the capital sins which Christian experience has distinguished, following St. John Cassian and St. Gregory the Great. They are called "capital" because they engender other sins, other vices.138 They are pride, avarice, envy, wrath, lust, gluttony, and sloth or acedia.

๐Ÿ“œ1867 The catechetical tradition also recalls that there are "sins that cry to heaven": the blood of Abel,139 The sin of the Sodomites,140 The cry of the people oppressed in Egypt,141 The cry of the foreigner, the widow, and the orphan,142 injustice to the wage earner.143

๐Ÿ“œ1868 Sin is a personal act. Moreover, we have a responsibility for the sins committed by others when we cooperate in them: - by participating directly and voluntarily in them; - by ordering, advising, praising, or approving them; - by not disclosing or not hindering them when we have an obligation to do so; - by protecting evil-doers.

๐Ÿ“œ1869 Thus sin makes men accomplices of one another and causes concupiscence, violence, and injustice to reign among them. Sins give rise to social situations and institutions that are contrary to the divine goodness. "Structures of sin" are the expression and effect of personal sins. They lead their victims to do evil in their turn. In an analogous sense, they constitute a "social sin."144

๐Ÿ“œ2111 Superstition is the deviation of religious feeling and of the practices this feeling imposes. It can even affect the worship we offer the true God, e.g., when one attributes an importance in some way magical to certain practices otherwise lawful or necessary. To attribute the efficacy of prayers or of sacramental signs to their mere external performance, apart from the interior dispositions that they demand, is to fall into superstition.

๐Ÿ“œ2116 All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to "unveil" the future.48 Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.

๐Ÿ“œ2120 Sacrilege consists in profaning or treating unworthily the sacraments and other liturgical actions, as well as persons, things, or places consecrated to God. Sacrilege is a grave sin especially when committed against the Eucharist, for in this sacrament the true Body of Christ is made substantially present for us.

๐Ÿ“œ2284 Scandal is an attitude or behavior which leads another to do evil. the person who gives scandal becomes his neighbor's tempter. He damages virtue and integrity; he may even draw his brother into spiritual death. Scandal is a grave offense if by deed or omission, another is deliberately led into a grave offense.

๐Ÿ“œ2089Incredulity is the neglect of revealed truth or the willful refusal to assent to it. "Heresy is the obstinate post-baptismal denial of some truth which must be believed with divine and catholic faith, or it is likewise an obstinate doubt concerning the same; apostasy is the total repudiation of the Christian faith; schism is the refusal of submission to the Roman Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him."

๐Ÿ“œ2093 Faith in God's love encompasses the call and the obligation to respond with sincere love to divine charity. The first commandment enjoins us to love God above everything and all creatures for him and because of him.12. Cf. ๐Ÿ“™Deut 6:4-5.

๐Ÿ“œ2094 One can sin against God's love in various ways:

๐Ÿ“indifference neglects or refuses to reflect on divine charity; it fails to consider its prevenient goodness and denies its power;

๐Ÿ“ingratitude fails or refuses to acknowledge divine charity and to return him love for love;

๐Ÿ“lukewarmness is hesitation or negligaence in responding to divine love; it can imply refusal to give oneself over to the prompting of charity;

๐Ÿ“acedia or spiritual sloth goes so far as to refuse the joy that comes from God and to be repelled by divine goodness;

๐Ÿ“hatred of God comes from pride. It is contrary to love of God, whose goodness it denies, and whom it presumes to curse as the one who forbids sins and inflicts punishments.

๐Ÿ“ƒCan. 751 Heresy is the obstinate denial or obstinate doubt after the reception of baptism of some truth which is to be believed by divine and Catholic faith; apostasy is the total repudiation of the Christian faith; schism is the refusal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him.

๐Ÿ“ƒCan. 889 Every baptized person not yet confirmed and only such a person is capable of receiving confirmation.

๐Ÿ“ƒCan. 892 Insofar as possible, there is to be a sponsor for the person to be confirmed; the sponsor is to take care that the confirmed person behaves as a true witness of Christ and faithfully fulfills the obligations inherent in this sacrament.

๐Ÿ“ƒCan. 915 Those who have been excommunicated or interdicted after the imposition or declaration of the penalty and others obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to holy communion.

๐Ÿ“ƒCan. 1184  Unless they gave some signs of repentance before death, the following must be deprived of ecclesiastical funerals:

๐Ÿ“ notorious apostates, heretics, and schismatics;

๐Ÿ“ those who chose the cremation of their bodies for reasons contrary to Christian faith;

๐Ÿ“ other manifest sinners who cannot be granted ecclesiastical funerals without public scandal of the faithful.

he has put down the mighty from their thrones,

he has filled the hungry with good things,

๐Ÿ“™Psalms 103

20 Bless the LORD, all you his angels, mighty in strength, acting at his behest, obedient to his command.

21 Bless the LORD, all you his hosts, his ministers who carry out his will.

๐Ÿ“™Hebrews 13:7-8

Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

๐Ÿ“™Revelations 5:8

When he took it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones.

๐Ÿ“™Matthew 18

"See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven

always look upon the face of my heavenly Father."

๐Ÿ“™1 Peter 3

14 But even if you should suffer because of righteousness, blessed are you. Do not be afraid or terrified with fear of them,

15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope.

๐Ÿ˜ Excerpts from USCCB Holy Bible notes ๐ŸŒ

Their angels in heavenโ€ฆmy heavenly Father: for the Jewish belief in angels as guardians of nations and individuals, see Daniel 10:13, 20โ€“21; Tb 5:4โ€“7; 1QH 5:20โ€“22; as intercessors who present the prayers of human beings to God, see Tb 13, 12:15, . The high worth of the little ones is indicated by their being represented before God by these heavenly beings.

โ™ฑ Salvation: Faith and Works

๐Ÿ“™Hosea 4 "There is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land."

๐Ÿ“™2 Cor. 5:14

For the love of Christ impels us, once we have come to the conviction that one died for all; therefore, all have died.

๐Ÿ“™Rom. 8:2

For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed you from the law of sin and death.

๐ŸŒ Reference from CA

Even though Jesus makes salvation possible for all humanity by redeeming the whole human race (the objective), it doesnโ€™t mean every individual is actually saved (the subjective). God never forces anyone to be saved but allows individuals to exercise their freedom to refuse him.

๐Ÿ“—Mark 13 ๐Ÿ–Š๏ธ The Parable of the Mustard Seed

30 He said, โ€œTo what shall we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable can we use for it?

31 It is like a mustard seed that, when it is sown in the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on the earth.

32 But once it is sown, it springs up and becomes the largest of plants and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the sky can dwell in its shade.โ€

๐Ÿ“—Matthew 13 ๐Ÿ–Š๏ธ The Parable of the Treasure and the Pearl

44 โ€œThe kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls.

46 When he finds a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it.

๐Ÿ“—Matthew 25 ๐Ÿ–Š๏ธ The Parable of the Ten Virgins

1โ€œThen the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise.

3 The foolish ones, when taking their lamps, brought no oil with them,

4 but the wise brought flasks of oil with their lamps.

5 Since the bridegroom was long delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

6 At midnight, there was a cry, โ€˜Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!โ€™

7 Then all those virgins got up and trimmed their lamps.

8 The foolish ones said to the wise, โ€˜Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.โ€™

9 But the wise ones replied, โ€˜No, for there may not be enough for us and you. Go instead to the merchants and buy some for yourselves.โ€™

10 While they went off to buy it, the bridegroom came and those who were ready went into the wedding feast with him. Then the door was locked.

11 a Afterwards the other virgins came and said, โ€˜Lord, Lord, open the door for us!โ€™

12 But he said in reply, โ€˜Amen, I say to you, I do not know you.โ€™

13 Therefore, stay awake,* for you know neither the day nor the hour.

๐Ÿ“– But how can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? And how can people preach unless they are sent? As it is written, โ€œHow beautiful are the feet of those who bring [the] good news!โ€ But not everyone has heeded the good news; for Isaiah says, โ€œLord, who has believed what was heard from us?โ€  Thus faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ. ๐Ÿ“— Romans 10

โš ๏ธ Be reminded ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป False Prophets, Anti-Christ, Superstitious Beliefs & Others

โŒAnti-Christ

๐Ÿ“–2 Peter 2:1-2

There were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will introduce destructive heresies and even deny the Master who ransomed them, bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their licentious ways, and because of them the way of truth will be reviled.

๐Ÿ“–1 John 2:18-19

Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that the antichrist was coming, so now many antichrists have appeared. Thus we know this is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not really of our number; if they had been, they would have remained with us.

๐Ÿ“–1 John 4

1 Beloved, do not trust every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2 This is how you can know the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges Jesus Christ come in the flesh belongs to God,

3 and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus* does not belong to God. This is the spirit of the antichrist that, as you heard, is to come, but in fact is already in the world.

๐Ÿ“– 1 Corinthians 10

25 Eat anything sold in the market, without raising questions on grounds of conscience,

26 for โ€œthe earth and its fullness are the Lordโ€™s.

๐Ÿ“–Deuteronomy 18:10-11

Let there not be found among you anyone who causes their son or daughter to pass through the fire, or practices divination, or is a soothsayer, augur, or sorcerer, or who casts spells, consults ghosts and spirits, or seeks oracles from the dead.

๐Ÿ“–Acts 11

7 I also heard a voice say to me, โ€˜Get up, Peter. Slaughter and eat.โ€™

8 But I said, โ€˜Certainly not, sir, because nothing profane or unclean has ever entered my mouth.โ€™

9 But a second time a voice from heaven answered, โ€˜What God has made clean, you are not to call profane.โ€™

10 This happened three times, and then everything was drawn up again into the sky.

๐Ÿ“–Luke 17

1 He said to his disciples, โ€œThings that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the person through whom they occur.

2 It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.

๐Ÿ“–1 John 1:8-10

This verse emphasizes the need for confession and repentance: โ€œIf we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.โ€ Sin, even when downplayed, harms our relationship with God and others.

๐Ÿ“–Gen. 38:9-10

Onan, however, knew that the offspring would not be his; so whenever he had intercourse with his brotherโ€™s wife, he wasted his seed on the ground, to avoid giving offspring to his brother.

What he did greatly offended the LORD, and the LORD took his life too.

๐Ÿ“– Luke 6

43 A good tree does not bear rotten fruit, nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not pick figs from thornbushes, nor do they gather grapes from brambles.

45 A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good, but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil; for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.

๐Ÿ“ŒHighlighting the Importance of Religion and our Faith

๐Ÿ“– James 1

26  If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, his religion is vain.

27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

๐Ÿ“– 1 Peter 4:18

And if the righteous one is barely saved, where will the godless and the sinner appear?

๐Ÿ“– Titus 1:1

Paul, a slave of God and apostle of Jesus Christ for the sake of the faith of Godโ€™s chosen ones and the recognition of religious truth, 2 in the hope of eternal life that God, who does not lie, promised before time began,

๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 3:16

Here is the great mystery of our religion: Christ came as a human. The Spirit proved that he pleased God, and he was seen by angels. Christ was preached to the nations. People in this world put their faith in him, and he was taken up to glory.

๐Ÿ“– 1 Timothy 4:7-9

Don't have anything to do with worthless, senseless stories. Work hard to be truly religious. As the saying goes, โ€œExercise is good for your body, but religion helps you in every way. It promises life now and forever.โ€ These words are worthwhile and should not be forgotten.

๐Ÿ“–Santiago 1

๐Ÿ“– Titus 1:1
